In terms of characteristics, tungsten carbide balls exhibit a high hardness of HRA 89-92 (far surpassing the HRC 58-65 of steel balls), making them exceptional in high-wear environments (such as bearings, sealing valves, and abrasive media). They also last 5 to 10 times longer than steel balls, reducing replacement frequency and lowering costs over the long term. Moreover, chemically speaking, tungsten carbide balls are more resistant to acids, alkalis, oxidation, and corrosion—features that steel balls lack, as they are prone to rust or chemical degradation—while tungsten carbide balls continue to deliver superior performance even in wet, corrosive environments.
For example, in the chemical industry—where high temperatures, high pressures, strong acids, alkalis, corrosive media, and other extreme environments are common—fluid control, grinding, and steel balls (such as stainless steel balls or rolled steel balls)—when used under these harsh conditions—are more prone to corrosion, wear, deformation, or even failure. That’s why tungsten carbide balls are the preferred choice. The tungsten carbide balls manufactured by Jinxin can be employed as high-pressure sealing balls, offering superior abrasion resistance and corrosion durability. They are also ideal for ultra-fine grinding applications and perform exceptionally well in valve fluid control systems.
