Product Description
Repair Tire Studs JX12-8-2 Tyre Spikes
Repair usually means replacing missing studs, re-seating loose ones, or re-studding a tire. Here’s how to approach it:
1. Inspection
Check for missing studs – common after hard use or wear.
Look for loose studs – they may spin or protrude unevenly.
Examine the tire holes – if holes are stretched or torn, the tire may need replacement.

2. Tools Needed
Stud gun or stud inserter (pneumatic or manual).
Replacement JX12-8-2 studs (same size and type).
Rubber cement or stud locking compound (optional but recommended).
Tire mounting machine (if tire needs to be removed for internal access).
3. Steps for Repair
✅ If Studs Are Pre-Installed (Factory Studded Tires)
Clean the hole – remove dirt, ice, or old rubber debris.
Apply lubricant (water or rubber lubricant) to help insertion.
Insert new stud using a stud gun:
Align stud with hole.
Push or press until the flange sits flush against the tread surface.
Check protrusion – all studs should protrude evenly (usually 1–2 mm for road use, more for racing).
✅ If Retrofitting or Re-studding a Tire
Drill holes (if not pre-molded) – use correct drill bit size for JX12-8-2.
Insert from outside or bolt through (if using internal nut type).
Secure – some designs require an internal nut or washer for retention.
