Tungsten Carbide Pin Key Production & Properties
- Material composition: WC as the hard phase, Co as the binder phase (common grades YG6, YG8, YL10.2). Sintered at ~1400°C to form a dense, homogeneous structure.
- Critical properties: Density ~13–15 g/cm³, excellent corrosion resistance (in most industrial media), low thermal expansion, high compressive strength.
- Tolerances & finish: Surface finish down to Ra 0.025 μm; used for gauging, alignment, and mold cores that demand lifelong precision.

Tungsten Carbide Pin Common Types & Applications
- Alignment pins: For fixtures, aerospace/mold assemblies; maintain position after thousands of cycles.
- Core pins (injection mold): Form internal cavities in plastic/metal parts (medical syringes, electrical connectors); reduce deflection in high-cavitation molds.
