Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) carbide cutter tips are extremely hard tungsten carbide inserts mounted on TBM disc cutters or cutting tools to break and crush rock during tunnel excavation.
They are critical wear components in large tunnel projects such as metro systems, road tunnels, hydro tunnels, and mining drives.
Carbide cutter tips are:
Made from cemented tungsten carbide (WC-Co)
Brazed or press-fitted onto cutter tools
