Product Description

Zhuzhou Hardmetal Bushing Manufacturer Custom-Made Tungsten Carbide Bushings

Cemented carbide bushings, also known as tungsten steel bushings, are high-performance mechanical components manufactured through powder metallurgy processes, with tungsten carbide (WC) serving as the hard phase and metals such as cobalt (Co) as the binder phase. Their core characteristics lie in their combination of ultra-high hardness and wear resistance, enabling them to maintain stable performance even under extreme operating conditions. As a result, they are indispensable wear-resistant, guiding, and sealing components in industrial equipment.

I. Core Materials and Processes

1. Material Composition

- Main Phase: Tungsten carbide (WC), which possesses extremely high hardness (HRA 88–93) and is the primary source of wear resistance.

- Binding Phase: Cobalt (Co), typically comprising 6%–15% of the composition, balances toughness and strength; performance can be optimized by adding elements such as tantalum and niobium.

- Properties: High-temperature resistance (stable performance up to 500°C), corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and a coefficient of linear expansion lower than that of steel, resulting in more stable clearances at high temperatures.

2. Manufacturing Process

1. Powder Blending: Powders are precisely mixed according to the formula and uniformly distributed through ball milling.

2. Pressing: The powder is pressed into bushing blanks using a hydraulic press.

3. High-Temperature Sintering: Sintered at 1300–1500°C to densify the powder and form a monolithic alloy.

4. Precision Machining: Finished using CNC lathes, internal and external cylindrical grinders, and internal bore grinders. The internal bore can achieve a mirror-like finish (Ra ≤ 0.4 μm) with a precision of IT5–IT7.
