Mechanical grid, as the primary component of sewage pretreatment system, physically intercepts solid impurities through fixed grid bars or rotating rake teeth to ensure the normal operation of subsequent treatment facilities. As an energy and heavy chemical industry base, the wastewater generated by coal mining, coking, and coal chemical industries often contains a large amount of coal powder, tar, and acidic substances, which pose a severe challenge to the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of mechanical grilles. For acidic water quality, the manufacturing material of mechanical grilles should be acid resistant stainless steel (such as 904L or super austenitic stainless steel) or lined with PTFE coating. At the same time, the high hardness of coal powder particles accelerates the wear of rake teeth and bars, so it is necessary to use hard alloy welding processes such as tungsten carbide for surface strengthening, or to use hard alloy bars. In terms of structural design, mechanical grilles often come with bottom flushing nozzles to prevent coal powder accumulation and blockage. Due to the easy adhesion of tar substances, the scraper needs to be designed with elastic material and regularly cleaned with hot steam.
