Product Description
Product introduction
The cemented carbide ring is made from tungsten carbide (WC) and either cobalt (Co) or nickel (Ni) using a powder metallurgy process, making it a high-performance industrial component with a hardness exceeding HRA89-90. Its wear resistance is 4 times greater than that of titanium, 5 times higher than tool steel, and 10 times better than gold. This material retains its stable physical properties even at temperatures up to 500°C, and also exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion and thermal cracking.
The main products include both movable and stationary rings, sealing rings, support rings, and other specialized rings, used in mechanical seals, instrument components, disc gears, and various other industrial fields. They are manufactured through precision molding and high-temperature sintering, with surface defect depth controlled to within 0.33 mm. Compared to pure tungsten rings, cemented carbide rings can only be scratched by diamond or corundum—and their service life is more than 10 times longer than that of conventional metallic materials.
Physical properties
Hardness of HRA 89-90, 4 times higher than titanium, 10 times higher than gold, and 5 times higher than tool steel
Wear resistance capable of withstanding friction conditions at a linear speed of 200 m/s
It maintains dimensional stability at 500°C, with a coefficient of thermal expansion lower than 0.6 × 10^-6/°C
Toughness at fracture of 15 MPa·m^1/2, exceeding that of conventional metallic materials used for seals
Product applications
1. As a core component of mechanical seals, cemented carbide rings play a key role in the following fields:
2. Petrochemicals: used in components of mechanical seals for centrifugal pumps, offering resistance to both acidic and alkaline corrosion according to GB5242 standard
3. Photovoltaic manufacturing: They maintain dimensional accuracy at a level of 0.005 mm in laminating and welding equipment [1]
4. Metal processing: the service life of wire extrusion dies is extended to more than 3,000 hours [1]
5. Precision instruments: the axial runout of the gyroscope bearing ring is ≤0.001 mm
